Joana Ramos
DIRECTOR

I’ve always had a passion for working with children. Even as a child myself, I often pretended to be a teacher during playtime—a reflection of the calling I’ve felt from an early age. I love watching children grow, reach important milestones, and develop into their unique selves.

I hope to be an extra support and resource for families. I believe in the saying that it takes a village to raise a child, and I’m committed to being an active part of that village. As a mother myself, I understand firsthand the challenges that parents often face. From sleep regressions to big tantrums, I know how overwhelming parenting can be—and sometimes, just hearing “this too shall pass” can make all the difference.

I truly enjoy connecting with children and helping them navigate their big emotions. I like to call them “little people with big feelings”—because even at a young age, their emotions are real and deserve to be met with patience, understanding, and compassion.

I have been working in the early childhood education field since 2011, gaining experience in a variety of roles ranging from teacher’s assistant to center director. The many roles have helped me have a great understanding of the dedication and patience required to nurture and educate young children. As a director I like to enter a classroom and support, offering ideas and strategies that helped me in the past as an educator, or just act as an extra set of hands during a hard transition.

I’m originally from Albania. I live in Burlington with my husband Filipy, my daughter Luana, son Lorenzo, our dog Oreo, and cat Simba. I enjoy spending quality time with loved ones, traveling, and watching movies in my downtime. I’m excited to continue watching my own children grow and learn as they become amazing individuals. At the same time, I look forward to continuing my journey in early childhood education—and hopefully, finding time to travel.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

I have always known I wanted to work with children from a young age, and knew that this would be my career path one day. The ability to make a significant difference in a child’s life is a powerful motivator and drives me to do my best for them. Providing a safe, supportive environment can have lasting effects on a child’s emotional and social development and that’s what I have always strived for.

Being a mother has given me a bigger appreciation for motherhood and children as a whole. It has shifted my priorities, but my love for children has grown even more and while I loved being a toddler teacher, I’m loving my new position as assistant director. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity and excited for the next chapter in my life!

I am originally from Ecuador, and now I live in Billerica with my husband and son. I love spending time with my family and friends, being outside, going for walks, and trying new restaurants.
