I am director-certified in early childhood education. I have been a teacher for more than 20 years—at Sunnyhill Preschool in Sudbury, where I created their ongoing summer program; and most recently at Little Hands Academy, where I was the lead pre-k teacher.
I love making school a fun and exciting place to be, creating a real classroom community environment… a true home away from home! I have always believed that play-based learning is the core to real learning with children this age, and I love when the children in my care are happy and excited to be there. Kindness, compassion, and empathy are all important steps in becoming successful in school and life; I hope to give children the gift of kindness and caring for others.
I grew up in Amherst, then Framingham, Mass. I now live in Lancaster with my husband, two of my three grown children, and one of my three grandchildren. We also have eight chickens, two cats, a turtle named Shelly, and last, but certainly not least, our dog Ryder. For fun, I love to spend time with my family, go kayaking when the weather is nice, hiking with my husband, and taking walks with my dog.
