We are vigilant about applying sunscreen to the children before going outside from May to October [see Topical Medication section], and encourage parents to provide hats, sun-protective clothing, and sunglasses for their children to use at school. We provide shaded areas on each playground, and during the summer months, we limit outside time to before 10:00 a.m. and after 4:00 p.m., and will not go outside if the heat index is above 90°.
