As a preventive measure, prior to departure from First Circle for each field trip, an administrator confirms appropriate preparedness is in place to ensure the safety of the children, including:
A first aid kit is taken in all vehicles on all field trips, as well as emergency supplies such as water, snacks, tissues, sunscreen, medicines, emergency consent forms, etc.
EEC staff-to-child ratios are maintained at all times.
Any emergency medications stipulated on children’s Special Care Plans (such as epi-pen or antihistamines) will be brought along to administer as needed. If necessary, 911 is called. The Transportation Coordinator informs the director immediately of the nature and extent of the injury or illness and the proposed plan of action.
